here's the situation.
there's this girl at work who i've been kidding around with for a couple months.
we laugh and joke and i thought we were pretty good friends.
Wow, if she's this much trouble and you haven't even got out on one date, imagine what a relationship with her would be like....
You: "Come here baby, I love you".
Her: "Go away, I hate you".
You: "What's wrong honey? You've been giving me the cold shoulder in bed and refusing to talk to me all week."
Her: "Nothings wrong! Don't touch me"
IMO she sounds a tad bit high maintenance.

i have a question.
are you blogging this site because you are bored or want to feel special, because it certainly cannot be for anything positive you might have to share with others.. i have been associated with jws for 30+ years.
Even when I was angry and confused, I knew Jehovah's Witnesses had Bible truth and hope to offer. NO ONE ELSE DOES.
Well, actually, other religions and other belief systems do offer people hope. It may not be a hope that you believe in but it is real hope to those who do.
I have known Brothers to cheat on their wives, abandon their family, give terrible, terrible advice to my loved ones and to judge others in the congregation unfairly. I, also, realize that all on earth are imperfect and not all represent Jehovah's teachings properly and that HE will deal with them in His own time in His own way. Maybe some are still in positions of honor (elders, ministerial servants, etc.), Has it ever occurred to you that Jehovah allows this to help weed out those who choose to stumble over the mistakes of imperfect man? Maybe some elders and MS need their thinking adjusted and have a really whacked way of handling situations. My point is that these are the actions of imperfect people. If we choose to let the naivete' of someone in the congregation stumble us, then we are merely playing into Satan's hands and not relying on Jehovah to bring about justice in HIS OWN TIME.

Using your logic, we could apply everything you said about imperfect men and waiting on Jehovah to bring justice in his own time to every other religion on earth, including orthodox Catholicism. You can't have it both ways. Apply the measuring stick that you measure other religions with to your own or apply it to neither.

Hey, I remember Alan Murray. He served in our circuit once in BC. He gave one of the all-time most hated illustrations I have ever heard in a public talk. He told the story of a witness family, who instead of going out in service on Saturday morning with their children like they were supposed to, went shopping at the mall instead. They left their two kids at home. The kids decided to cook their own lunch and set the house on fire and were both burned to death. Now imagine brothers and sisters, if this family had of been out in the service like they should have been, this horrible tragedy would never have happened! (insert puking sounds here! )

as you all know we have been out of the tower about 3 years now.
i am still a christian but my hubby thinks of himself more as an agnostic.
anyway, my son who is 12 asked if he could go trick or treating with my nieghbor and her son just to try it as it never has - and i said it was up to him to decide.

or as its known in england "give us yer stuff or we'll egg you".. it really isnt the cozy friendly 'kids get dressed up and chat to all the neighbours nicely' that it is portrayed on american tv (remember the et scene?).
i know you guys across the pond love haloween but imo its awful here.
youth crime goes up by 20% in the uk around haloween.. our version is way more menacing.

That sounds horrible. Halloween is quite popular in BC, but not as much as Christmas. Lots of kids still go trick or treating, usually with parents or older brothers and sisters close by watching out. Many parents throw private parties for the little ones or older teens or even themselves. Church groups have parties too. There is not very much vandalism. Egging is illegal and the police are on the watch for groups of unruly teens, (they will confiscate the eggs if found). We only had our house egged once and it was not because we were JW's. It was because the kids who lived across the street were juvenile delinquants. They caused havoc in the neighbourhood all year long, not just on Halloween.
Yes egg, is very hard to clean off. You should have seen hubby cursing the next day. It didn't sound too christian like! I wanted to give out candy this year but hubby forbids me (unusual for him). It might have something to do with the fact that there are a dozen witnesses who live in our subdivision including the service overseer and presiding overseer. He says it will only take one to drive by when I'm giving out candy and then I'll be df'd for sure. (I know he's right). I'm disappointed though, and I think I might egg his car for revenge!

i've been 'lurking' on this discussion board for ages, but not posted until now - finally thought i'd go for it and post something myself!
i've chosen gypsy tart as my alias not because i'm a gypsy (i'm not), or a tart (not all the time lol) but because i love gypsy tart it's my v favourite pud ever!
i did think of calling myself 'hovisbiscuit' because that's what the other kids at school would call me (along with 'oh look it's a hova') whilst they all filed into assembly.

As for growing old and dying, yep, mouthy is right. It will happen to all of us like it or not. Is there life after death? Who knows? I figure we should treat everyone with love just in case, and we can't go wrong with that philosophy. We also don't know when we are going to die. So the important question here is, are we going to ruin our current days wishing for something we can't have (everlasting life in paradise) or worrying about the time and manner of our eventual death, or are we going to use and enjoy them to the fullest? Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we may very well be dead. At least at our funeral we can hope people will say, "she really lived!"

i have seen a lot of posts here that attack pedophiles and want open records which i agree with.
pedophiles are detestable and disgusting.. my question is don't you think some are wrongfully accused by some especially in child custody issues?
i know of some that were accused and arrested and in one case the mother in law and wife admitted in pre trial they made the whole thing up.
I think accusing someone falsely of child molestation is about the worst thing you can do to a person. Even if they are exonerated there will always be some who view the person with suspicion ever afterwards. In my opinion, anyone who is proven to have falsely accused someone maliciously should be given the same sentence the child molester would have been given.

just wanted to run an informal poll to see how "effective" or hopelessly "ineffective" the borg tract assimilation drive has been.. i for one, have not received the tract, and i live in densely populated development.

I got one from my husband. I think he tried to cheat on his 50 by getting an easy placement. I didn't let him get away with it though. I told him, thanks, but I've already seen it months ago. It was posted on the internet. He asked me by who. I told him I think it was some apostate who's currently working at bethel. He gives us advance notice of all the society's publications and talks. I read some of the assembly talks before you ever went to the assembly. (We had one of the very first assemblies). He was very shocked! His face went all white. I know it was mean but I was bored that day and I couldn't resist rocking his world a little. He gets in such a theocratic rut sometimes! lol.

i was talking with one of my guy friends because i'm not sure what i believe right now and he asked me this question, "what if jesus was just the first great magician?
" he pointed out that magicians now could walk on water, and do other miraculous things that "ordinary" people couldn't normally do.
so i pose the question to you: what do you think about jesus being the first great magician?
I think Jesus was a great and very charismatic teacher who drew many disciples. After his death, those who wrote the gospels could easily have embellished his life stories adding in miracles. Well, what about all the eye witnesses to those miracles the bible mentions? Again, how do we know there were all those eye witnesses. The same writers who invented the miracles could also have invented the eye-witnesses. Who is going to discredit them in that time period. Jesus barely gets a mention in the historical records of the time period. He was not a great figure of history in his lifetime that would merit a full scale investigation of events. Then, after the death of the bible writers and all the supposed eye-witnesses who is left to discredit the stories or recant. It's the stuff all the great legends and myths of the world are made of. It is really no more believable than any of the other great mythologies of the ages, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Norse, etc. Yet, at one time, millions believed in those stories.
One of the only reasons Christianity has gained the great foothold in the world that it has is because of war and politics. If Charlemagne had not been so successful in his military dominance, then Christianity may have faded into the realm of ancient history like so many other of those other mythologies. When those empires died out, the prominance of their religions died with them. The same could happen to Christianity if the world dominance of Christian countries ever declines. Education combined with freedom of thought could also conceivable accomplish the same thing over time.
